Chip Hodge's Biography

Mr. Hodge, who joined Hancock in 1984, retired in April 2017 after a 30 year career in the Bond and Corporate Finance Group.  He became head of the Oil & Gas team in 2003 and was subsequently appointed to also oversee investments in the Timber and Forest Products, Agriculture, and Metals and Mining sectors.  The combined team, referred to as the Natural Resources Team, was responsible for the management of an approximate $12 billion dollar portfolio of public and private bonds, mezzanine debt and private equity at the time of his departure.  Throughout his 30 year tenure in the Bond Group, Mr. Hodge acted as lead investor and arranger in various major and niche oil and gas transactions, and developed numerous contacts and a substantial reputation in the industry. 

Mr. Hodge graduated from Providence College with a B.S. in Accounting and earned an M.B.A. in Finance from Northeastern University.
