Jerry J. Langdon's Biography
Jerry J. Langdon served in various senior executive positions with Energy Transfer Partners, Reliant Energy and El Paso Energy. In each of those capacities Mr. Langdon led teams to resolve more than $3.5B in potential market manipulation claims by various state agencies in California and with the Commodities Exchange Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In each case, Mr. Langdon oversaw sweeping governance changes in each company to ensure future regulatory compliance. Mr. Langdon also served for five years as Commissioner for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He co-authored the Joint FERC/DOE Natural Gas Deliverability Task Force Report at the direction of Energy Secretary James Watkins and FERC Chairman, Martin L. Allday. He was the Chairman of the National Petroleum Counsel’s 2002 Natural Gas Study entitled Balancing Natural Gas Policy – Fueling the Demands of a Growing Economy and presented same to Energy Secretary Abraham in September 2002. He testified by invitation before the Railroad Commission of Texas' State of the Industry Conference and was a panelist at the Texas Railroad Commission’s First Annual Natural Gas Forum in Houston, TX. Mr. Langdon has testified before the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the United States House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, the National Energy Board of Canada and various state Public Utility Commissions. He is also a member board of the North American Energy Standards Board and former member of The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Beginning his career in 1975, Mr. Langdon has built and owned five successful businesses with annual sales of more $300M. He has more than 40 years of business experience in the energy industry.
