Sam Pyne joined Haddington in January 2007 to assist with the evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities, macro level industry analysis, and ongoing portfolio company initiatives. He supports all of the portfolio companies, with an emphasis on industry analysis, new market development, and technical due diligence. Mr. Pyne serves on the Board of Managers at Eureka and Tristream and attends Board of Managers meetings for Endicott Biofuels, Magnum and Apex CAES.
Prior to joining Haddington, Mr. Pyne worked as an equity analyst at Howard Weil, Inc. where he performed in-depth industry and company analysis across the midstream, MLP, and power sectors. Prior to Howard Weil, he worked in several engineering and operational roles. From 1996 until 1999, Mr. Pyne worked as a process engineer at a Lyondell petrochemical facility. In 1999, he co-founded an Internet technology company and successfully sold the company in mid-2000. In 2001, Mr. Pyne helped found another ongoing venture funded startup where he worked until 2003.
He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Tufts University in 1996 with a BA in Quantitative Economics and a BS in Chemical Engineering. In 2005, Sam earned his MBA from Rice University. Mr. Pyne also sits on the board of directors of the Houston Arboretum.
