Sam Pyne joined Haddington in January 2007.  His responsibilities include evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities, macro level industry analysis, and ongoing portfolio company initiatives.  He supports all aspects of the portfolio companies, ranging from industry analysis and technical due diligence to support of equity and debt financings and the ultimate exit from the investment.  Mr. Pyne serves on the Board of Managers at Eureka, Endicott, and Apex CAES.   

Prior to joining Haddington, Mr. Pyne worked as an equity analyst at Howard Weil, Inc. where he performed in-depth industry and company analysis across the midstream, MLP, and power sectors.   Prior to Howard Weil, he worked in several engineering and operational roles.  From 1996 until 1999, Mr. Pyne worked as a process engineer at a Lyondell petrochemical facility.  In 1999, he co-founded an Internet technology company and successfully sold the company in mid-2000.  In 2001, Mr. Pyne helped found another ongoing venture funded startup where he worked until 2003.

He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Tufts University in 1996 with a BA in Quantitative Economics and a BS in Chemical Engineering.  In 2005, Sam earned his MBA from Rice University.  Mr. Pyne also sits on the executive committee and serves as treasurer for the Houston Arboretum.
